Honestly I have not had the time nor gumption – I have a D3 and although similar they are slightly different (god knows why – only apple). Take a look at the screen cast showing you the best way I have found after playing with it for ages (since V1 of aperture).

The issue for me I I need a bunch of very diverse images taken under various conditions – right now I have about 10 from people sending them to me and they do not quite cover my needs in creating a worthwhile set of presets that will work for most images and most picture controls.

Hey, thanks for your efforts here as not everyone would offer to do this work for their community, for free. I enjoy your site and appreciate your articles and advice.

I was scratching my head about photo ‘lack lustre’ from my D3 in Aperture. I would love any presets for the D3 (and less important but still appreciated for the D700, D300, D40 & D80!)

I’m just getting into Vivenza 2 – but would like to start with a decent image first! If you could email me – stuff at ploth dot com – that would be great

A preset for the D90 would be great. The difference with NX2
is what kept me form using Aperture 2 very much. I think its
better with Aperture 3, but equivalence would give me peace!

Another D700 user interested in what sort of presets you might come up with for NEFs. Free is great but I can totally see paying a fee for a set of Picture Control-like presets.

Are you still doing One-on-One or has that been suspended since A3 is out?

A lot of D700 files that people send me have a strange overexposure issue in Aperture compared to NX2 – not a big deal the info is all there – they are just very bright by default – I have not seen this with the D3 so I would need to see your typical RAW file from your D700 to match it.

send me yours as a sample – I will compile a database and see if I can figure out why some D700′s do this.

I’d like an Ansel Adams preset if you have the time. You weaseled out of it in earlier postings, before A3 came out.

Don’t post it for free, sell it, and you’ll have an empire rivaling Ken Rockwell’s in no time.

All joking aside, something for the D700 would be good, but I bet that I can use something for the D3 and be just fine. The two main adjustments that I use are the contrast and saturation controls. WB has been great since the last firmware update, so not a lot of issues there.

I’ll work on one myself and send it to you and see how close we get.

I’d be keen for the D3 preset(s) too if you can.

if you don’t mind, I’d love to get hold of any presets you have for the D3. If you have Picture Control versions, that’s great, but a basic preset would be great whatever.

Ps. You know I actually still shoot my D2H on occasion. It is a beast – fast – beautiful files at low ISO and… It doesn’t distract my lighting workshop participants – they are amazed at the out of camera JPGs from a 4mpix camera project onto an HD screen tethered.
