David,

Sorry I missed this question - it happens.

Here is what I would do in your situation. I would send the image from lightroom to PS CS4 as a smart object and apply silver EFX within PS as a filter on a smart object. This is the best way to have both your RAW LR adjustments continue to be "adjustable" and all of your other PS work including the Silver EFX filter be completely dynamic.

How do you modify a RAW file using Silver Efex in Lightroom, then export to Photoshop and make lots of changes, including with the use of numerous layers, import back to Lightroom (over and over sometimes) and still preserve the color information in the file? I'm always tweaking my images back and forth between CS4 and Lightroom from time to time, but am frustrated at the loss of the color data (for B&W adjustment purposes) when doing so. Does Silver Efex solve this? Thanks in advance. David

For the curious one who asked...

The image at the top of the post took 5 seconds to shoot off of the balcony in my office and about 30 seconds to post process in Silver EFex Pro.

1) increase contrast slider a bit.
2) increase structure until the detail started to really show in the clouds
3) red filter
4) panatomic-X film simulation
5) 3 control points - on to darken up the top of the sky just a hair, the second to lighten up the trees at the bottom a hair that also lightened up the bottom of the clouds so I stuck one on the bottom of one of the clouds to keep the lightening just to the trees.
6) clicked the done button.
